Church expansion in Mississippi
For this project, only 20 feet could be added to the front of the existing building as well as 10 feet to the educational wing, but much of the interior was remodeled and updated as part of the work. The sanctuary that was once very dark with wood ceiling and paneled walls was whitewashed and redecorated with new brighter carpet and appointments. I was told that after the first service in the remodeled church had concluded, those attending spent longer in visiting and admiring the remodeled building then they had spent at worship!
I have observed that neighborhood projects such as this seem to serve as a catalyst to inspire surrounding property owners to fix up their places in response. Even the concrete block yard sign was copied by another church a few blocks away.
